Our favorite day of the week has arrived! This installment is ideal for those looking for a cute D.I.Y. holiday gift idea. Here are two simple styles perfect for the fashionista or young Vera fan on your list.

Ribbon Headband
What you’ll need:
Scissors, ribbon (we used the one from our Take Note Cube), a hot glue gun and elastic (we used the piece from our Pocket Pals)
1. Cut the elastic off of your Pocket Pals. Set aside. Trim the ribbon so that it is just about two inches smaller than the circumference of your head (measuring vertically).
2. Use a small amount of glue from the hot glue gun to attach the elastic to the ribbon on each end, forming a complete band. Let your new headband dry entirely. Slide it into place for a fabulous look!
Bow Ring
What you’ll need:
A used Vera Bradley paper item that is spiral bound (we used Pocket Papers), ribbon (we used the one from our Pocket Pals), scissors or wire cutters (recommended)
1. Disassemble your spiral-bound item, separating the binding and perforated paper.
2. Use your wire cutters to remove one section of the spiral binding. (Tip: You might also want to use sandpaper or a file to remove any sharp edges.)
3. Tie your ribbon into a cute bow.
4. Slide the ring through the center (bottom side) of the bow.
5. Turn the ring until the opening is tucked under the bow. Secure your new accessory with a small amount of hot glue, if it’s handy.

Come back each Wednesday for more of Erin’s eco-friendly D.I.Y. designs.
I LOVE how y’all use everything from your products, especially the ones that can only be used for a limited time. DIY Wednesday is my fave!
So adorable!!!!! Love this
What a cute idea!! And simple to make.
I wish it was more Vera, though! Show us how to make something with a napkin, PLEASE!!
Check the link to the VB wreath below, napkins might work if they are very stiff.
Adorable, I shall be making one for my grandaughter to go with the Vera Purse I bought her for Christmas.
Courtney, Erin,
I’m surprised that you haven’t yet put a link to the VB wreath featured last year as one of the DIYs for the holidays: http://insidestitch.com/2010/12/03/wrap-artists/

This is amazing! You’ve just inspired a loot bag party favour for my daughter’s party. I’ll link you up to it if I do it and it goes well enough to blog about it.
