Some of our retail locations opened their doors outside normal hours, so curious customers could see our new Bed and Bath items a little early and, of course, do a little shopping. We sent Social Media Team member Libby to scope out a Slumber Party in our neighboring state and share her favorite moments from the trip.
With the Bed and Bath launch Thursday, June 28, we could not contain our excitement, and thus decided a celebration was definitely in order. And what better way to celebrate Bed and Bath than with a Slumber Party? No official invitation or convincing necessary, I quickly packed my bags and headed to Vera Bradley at Old Orchard Shopping Center in Skokie, Illinois.
Though I was admittedly easy to spot, my intention was to play the role of Twitter paparazzi and discrete Instagramer. (What’s that … you don’t follow @verabradley on Instagram yet? What a perfect opportunity!)

First stop, Glam Bags passed out to the first 50 guests. I was so tempted to snag a bag myself after seeing the Fall-inspired nail polishes and decals. A chance to match my bag to my nails? Yes, please!
I had such a great time with everyone, making fast friends with the girls heading off to high school and college, the social media fans (Pinterest = love) and the shoppers strategizing at the front of the line. I could feel the common bonds.
The lovely Old Orchard team presented the new styles and shared design and decor tips for bringing Vera Bradley into your home, like using the Square Ribbon Board for hair accessories and jewelry as well as photos and notes. What a multitasking new style!
Alas, the clock struck midnight and it was time to turn in. The night owls of the group were still buzzing about their finds as they headed out the door, but for one partygoer, beauty sleep came pretty easily …
